Education

The Klukwan School is the home of 42 students and is a part of the Chatham School District. Tribal activities, such as a Watershed Conference held in 2001, and the Long House Celebration in September of 2004, encourage a strong relationship between the school, the community, and its government. The tribe's Language Restoration Program has also assisted the school by placing several Village Elders, Tlingit Language Teachers and Language Apprentices in the classrooms to assist with language instruction. Klukwan students also participate in different activities of the Klukwan Traditional Knowledge Camp.

The Community Library is now open year round to all ages.

A group of Klukwan students hold a topographical map they created out of layers of cork board. The map depicts the Chilkat Watershed and was prominently displayed at the 2001 Southeast Alaska Watershed Conference held in Klukwan.
